Purbeck Through the Seasons
Wildlife of the Arne Peninsula

While visiting Arne it is always a present surprise to see the white sika deer. These are mostly to be seen on the eastern side of the reserve where they can number up to fifteen or more. Very occasionally odd ones tend to stray onto other parts of the reserve. Perhaps one of the best times to view them is in the late evening when after a day on the marshes they tend to wander back to graze on the local fields before wandering back out again during the early hours of the morning.
